Alright Knights fans. This is where you need to defend your fanhood. That’s right. I’m questioning your damn fanhood. UCF is taking on Southern Miss to kick off a 3 game conference home stand. If UCF wants to compete for a CUSA championship, they need to play oh so strong in their remaining games… but it all starts with Southern Miss. Southern Miss comes into Wednesday’s game with an 11-5 record, and an impressive 19 point defeat over Ole Miss…The same Ole Miss that beat UCF by 30+ earlier this season, in case you believe in the whole transitive property school of thought.
UCF fans have proven time and time again that they can make a difference with crowd noise. Hell, even Kirk and the players admit that. For a school our size, with facilities like ours, I can’t find a single reason why we aren’t putting more people in the stands. It can’t be because UCF doesn’t put a good product on the court; we’re 11-6 with the 5th youngest team in the country. It can’t be because UCF doesn’t entertain; Jermaine Taylor, Knightmoves, and the 3rd best cheerleading squad in the country…what more can you want? Oh more wins? That’s what you want? I guess I should mention, since the new Arena opened, The Knights are 23-5 on the home court. Seriously. I’m sick of excuses, and most of you are running out of decent ones.
If you call yourself a Knight, if you bleed that black and gold, and if you spend more time on UCFsports.com then you do actually working… You better be inside the Dungeon Wednesday night, cheering on Kirk and the Knights. Oh, and you better be with a friend.
